Tristar Industries works with great customers outside the North American Pulp & Paper industry, including Agra Coast (Astronomical Telescopes and Amusement Rides), BC Ferries, BC Hydro and Whistler Mountain.

Mining - a field for Tristar's special talents.

Thousands of machine parts move in the world of mills, smelters and concentrators. Ball and rod mills, crushers, grinders and a great variety of pump parts are exposed to the daily wear caused by abrasive ore particles. Few other industries are subject to similar equipment depreciation. Tristar's unique service offers a remedy to the mining industry's replacement problems. Tristar already has a history of a great variety of machine part replacements. Many particular problems have been solved. Often a change of metallurgy helped reduce extreme abrasion effects.

Tristar's prompt service reduces downtime:

  • Reconditioning of magnet frames, hubs, rims and mechanical components for ore trucks up to 200 tons.
  • Reconditioning of lower rollers for shovels, track pads, reamer heads, ball mill babbit bearings, boom extensions
  • Resizing of drive pinion shafts, crusher housings, concentrator pumps, pit dewatering pumps, propel transmissions, swing transmissions

Vancouver, Tristar's home port, is a busy harbour. It's not surprising that Tristar's unique services have been employed for a wide variety of marine jobs.

Machining of propellers, shafts, bearings, tillers, hubs. Tristar is supplier of components to local wharfs and boat-builders and to marine related industries. Tristar's marine reputation is growing as old clients recruit new clients by "word of mouth" for services such as:

  • Manufacturing of new propeller shafts up to 52.5' length.
  • Machining of propellers, shafts, bearings, bronze liners, tillers, hubs.
  • Manufacturing of masts, rebuilding of diesel engine parts.

Tristar has performed extensive work for refineries and for the petrochemical industry. The experience with pumps and pump parts, in addition to stocked patterns and drawings, has proven particularly rewarding. Many pumps and gate valves are reconditioned at Tristar.
